1.About Airport in Taiwan

The convenient destination is Kaohsiung International Airport in Taiwan (KHH) for participants who will arrive by international flights. Kaohsiung is about one hour from NCKU by taxi or shuttle bus services. Participants can go through the immigration and customs at the Kaohsiung International Airport (KHH) instead of the Taipei International Airport (TPE).

Those who chooses to enter Taiwan and go through the immigration and customs in Taipei CKS International Airport (TPE) can take a taxi or bus to a domestic airport in the City of Taipei to take a domestic flight from the Taipei domestic airport to the Tainan domestic airport, which is about 20 minutes by taxi to NCKU.

2. From Kaohsiung International Airport to Tainan City by train

Airport to Kaohsiung Train Station by taxi — about NT$250

Kaohsiung Train Station to Tainan Train Station by train — about NT$110 (Leaves Kaohsiung about every 30 min. and takes about 30 min. to reach Tainan City.)

3. From Kaohsiung International Airport to Tainan City by Taxi

It takes about 1 hour to reach Tainan City via freeway — about NT$1,000.

4. From Taiwan-Taoyuan International Airport to Tainan City

Taiwan-Taoyuan International Airport to Sungshan Airport (domestic airport) takes about 1 hour.

By bus (via freeway) — every 15-20 min., about NT$125.
By taxi — about NT$1100.

Songshan Airport to Tainan Airport

Reservation is recommended but not always necessary. It costs about US$3,200 for business class, and about NT$2,000 for economy class. See the timetable below.

Tainan Airport to Downtown Tainan or National Cheng Kung University
By taxi — about NT$200.
By limousine (ask hotel for the availability) — about NT$350 (depending on hotel).

Tip is not necessary for taxi in Taiwan
The exchange rate is about 34 New Taiwanese Dollars (NTD) for 1 US dollar.
